EFFECTIVE RELIEF FROM DISCOMFORT
Soft tissue mobilisation is a physical treatment to alleviate musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitate injury. It applies massage and mobilisation to your muscles and joints in order to achieve improved function and relieve discomfort. Joint mobilisation involves passive movement of your skeletal joint. It is usually aimed at the synovial joint, with the aim of achieving a therapeutic effect. There are generally five grades of pressure applied, as deemed appropriate by the practitioner, to achieve optimum mobilisation over a number of treatments.

ACUPUNCTURE
Health Focus Clinic is now offering lower limb acupuncture to our range of available therapies. This is a Western medical acupuncture as opposed to traditional Chinese acupuncture and does not follow the ethos of balancing ‘Qi’ or energy. It involves rather the local applications of needles to sites of pain and adjacent areas to improve symptoms.
IS ACUPUNCTURE SUITABLE FOR ME?
The needling enhances your local healing responses and induces pain relief and muscular relaxation. Acupuncture does not suit everyone and it will take three sessions to establish whether this modality of treatment is for you. Many problems significantly improve or even resolve within this time frame.
Acupuncture is statistically safe, particularly in lower limb sites, with few side effects. There may be minor bleeding or bruising after treatment.
