Here at Health Focus we are here to help you look after your feet and to educate you as to what you can to to help prevent any foot problems.
People with diabetes are more prone to foot problems as the condition can cause nerve damage which leads to:
- Loss of sensation
- Reduced circulation
- Dry skin /cracked heel
- Ulceration/infection
- Delayed Healing.
At Health Focus we assess your diabetic foot status by checking and monitoring:
- Circulation
- Skin
- Sensation
- Footwear
- Your understanding of your foot condition.
this service IS suitable for you if:
You are newly diabetic
Cannot reach your feet
Cannot see your feet
Cannot cut your nails
Have hard skin and corns
Have cracked heels
Want to take an active part in looking after your feet
Need to learn more out about diabetic feet
This service is NOT for you if:
You have long standing diabetic ulcers that are being dressed by the NHS.
This is because as a high risk diabetic you need to be under a multi disciplinary diabetic team and this type of foot should NOT be managed in a private practice setting.
