General information and frequently asked questions about your treatment

Osteopathy FAQs

What should I wear?
It is best to wear loose clothing, e.g. a vest top if you have a sore shoulder, or shorts if you have a sore hip, you may be asked to remove some of your clothing so that your Osteopath can fully assess the troublesome area. We always have blankets, shorts etc., here if you need them. If you are not comfortable removing any clothing just let us know.

Will I be sore afterwards?
Some patients feel achy, or tired, after a treatment if we have worked on areas of muscle spasm. This should ease within a day or two, and it is always good to drink plenty of water afterwards.

Will I have treatment on the 1st visit?
Yes, along with taking your history and examining you. Only on very rare occasions if you have a more complicated case history and we run out of time!

How many treatments will I need?
This is different for everyone. The plan is to keep it simple, by working on muscle spasm and getting you moving again. You will be given an idea once you have been examined.

Where do I park?
We are at the end of the Morrison’s car park which gives 2.5 hours free parking. Once in the clinic we also have a stairlift if needed.
